Swincombe Farm, Dartmoor

Nothing beats a blustery walk across the moors in the late summer; this time we headed up to the ruined farm at Swincombe, hidden away in a valley with a small river and lichen covered oak trees.

Snap Shots: Autumn Colours

Carrying on from my September visit to Devon, here’s some snapshots I took whilst out and about between visits to gardens, houses and the moors…

Autumn Skies at Thurlestone Rock

At the beginning of September, Mr B and I hopped on the train with my little passenger for a ‘final’ trip down before he is due in December. It was mostly to celebrate my brother’s 40th birthday, so we made a week of it and spent a lot of time visiting the moors, sea and local landmarks around the family home – further posts to follow on these!

The Garden House

The aptly named Garden House is in Buckland Monachorum Devon, which used to house the local vicars before it was bought by the Fortescue family in 1940, when the house and gardens were transformed into what we see and visit today.

August Adventures

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, being pregnant means that everything (photography) has taken a backseat for now, which is a shame. I’ve been mostly relying on my Android and VSCO app to take photos now as I simply don’t have the energy to go out and shoot.

Travels with Film: Berry Pomeroy Castle

Welcome to part two of the latest ‘travels with film’ post. The first was a few weeks ago with a quick trip to Dartmoor and around Grimspound, whilst spotting Dartmoor poines from the car . I finished the film up inside the amazing Berry Pomeroy castle, just outside my hometown Totnes in Devon.
